Sorry to Disappoint.

It appears they've found the body of Bigfoot - the subject of one of my favorite Macguyver episodes ever.

Once upon a time

This post is dedicated to Cory. Cory is the king of famous dreams, and writing stories about them. And he remembers such detail. Its really fascinating. I am glad though - that I have not dreamt of a metroid on my leg or woken up to the hollow eyes of Kitty staring into my own.

Click here to read about Ben Folds, Robin Williams, Stephen King and Johnny Cash and here for Peter Jackson.

So I've had two dreams involving Coldplay. The first, involves me and my friend Tim Nakao (who is an amazing songwriter himself). Tim, Chris, Johnny, Will, Guy and me are all in the basement of my Church (the nursery to be exact) are having a really cool jam session. Thats all I remember of that dream.

In the second dream, Chris Martin and I are playing the cabinet grand that we have at my church - except its in the middle of a field. I think the field behind my house. From what I can remember, the other band members are just kind of milling around the piano talking with friends. I think I really hogged the piano and didn't let Chris play it too much. Chris and I had similar wallets/coinpurses in the dream. They were kind a teal blue, leather. And the had a tan/orange animal face on it. It was either a cat or a lion or something. They looked like something you might make at camp. Well somehow, during our second jam session, our wallets got mixed up, and I ended up with his wallet. It was time for them all to go, so they got into their big limo with loads of security. After they were driving off I realized we had switched wallets accidentially and I looked in his - there was thousands of pounds in there. So I ran after the limo frantically. I was waving my arms for them to stop and security was trying to keep me away but I kept going through and plowing them over. Finally the limo stopped and Chris got out and I explained breathless that he had left his wallet and tried to give it back but he said; "You keep it."
They drove off and the money he gave me helped me to pay for college. I was so excited when I woke up that morning that I almost told my parents that I had been given a gift for college.

It kind of hurts

A friend of mine passed away Friday morning and that was sad. He never told anyone he had cancer so it was kind of a shock for most people. I found out he had cancer several weeks ago, but he didn't tell me. Teusday night Adrielle [my manager from work] called me and told me he had collapsed and was in the ER - that the cancer had spread to his brain. I think we knew that would be the last time we would see him. I took his hand before I left the hospital room. "Come back and see me at work, OK?"

The day he passed away was ironically Relay for Life. The Illuminari ceremony was at 10:00 and AJ came for that and lit his candle. She wasn't there when I got it so I wrote the message for her. I know that what I was thinking was what she was thinking. We walked for two hours around the ring of illuminaries than we went to Neptune Diner and got coffee. I will miss him a lot.

I hope that he heard the prayers prayed over him on Tuesday night, that he heard the admonitions to turn to the Saviour and I hope that I will see him someday and he will hug me again.

found out the hype won't get you through.

"Well I was hoping he'd get more than five mintues - but..."
Jon looks at me.
"Who? - Oh - Scarecrow - yeah you like him huh."
Dad looks at me.
"You like him - like like him?"
I smile.

We went to the drive-in last night and it was fun. We spread blankets on the hood/windshield of the car and ate popcorn and sour patch kids. Jon and Heather bought my ticket to see 'The Dark Knight.' I really only remember Jokerman. I don't remember Christian Bale at all - that disappointed me slightly. But its all good. What a last performance for Ledger to be remembered by. Hah. Overall I enjoyed the experience of the drive-in much better than a theatre. I found the movie to be confusing in parts or maybe that was because it started raining and I had to scrunch myself in the backseat of the car with a highly obstructed view. There was huge flashes of lightening the whole time we were there - what seemed to be heat lightening. It added such a neat element to the movie since its darker anyways. As we got closer to home the whole sky was lit up with massive bolts of lightening and the rain began to pour. "Some town is getting hammered right now." I said, staring at bolt after bolt crashing down across the hill in a small valley. "Thats Mt. Vision, Esther." Says Jon.

"Was Robin in the movie?" Dad asks me later after I got home.
"No - no Robin."
"What? No Robin?"
"Nope."
"Why wasn't there a Robin?"

Not sure exactly Dad but for right now I think people are still trying to get used to the idea that Batman might actually be cool, dark, and mysterious and Robin kind of doesn't fit in the picture right now.

I'm sure everyone knows I'm not going back to Greenville this fall. I think its the right decision. I will be taking three 4 credit courses from SUNY Empire and working full time along with teaching. I will be very busy. It will be good and it will help prepare me for when I go back down next year.

Pray for finances as I've just put over $1,000 into my car and will need three times that for my courses. God provides and is faithful and I am thankful for how He teaches me to have faith. I still love Freddy (my car) even though he has put me through some heartache.

I will be posting some neat pics I got from my Dad's garden on Facebook in a few and I'll try to put a few on here too.

Oh, breifly before I go, I am planning on finishing a low-quality (as in 'This Little Rose' without the pedal thumping in the background) CD to sell so I can try and raise a little money for school. Its going to be a good CD. Whatever price I sell it for shipping will be included in that. I will keep you all updated on that and when it gets closer to the time that it is ready, I'll let you know and you can email me with your address if you want it. Also, if there is a song you'd like on it let me know. I have a pretty long list of songs for it already, but I'll try and work it out.

theirs was the kingdom

What a great night its been.

I've had an awesome/wierd weekend, a CRAZY past couple of days, and a horrible morning, and a great night by myself. It just shows me how sovereign God is.

My lesson student and second job cancelled on me Saturday. "What shall we do with our stolen time?" So I called up Jon and Heather and we went kyaking and it was terrific. It was the best Saturday I've ever had. And my best friend is coming up this weekend and I'm so freaking stoked about that. We're going to Honest Brooke on Saturday night for the Shanghai Quartet. Its going to be great - don't worry I will take pictures of the barn.

I had a ton of things I wanted to write about but I can't remember them right now.

I highly remember Matthew Perryman Jones' album 'Throwing Punches in the Dark'. What a beauty. www.noisetrade.com

Here is a quote from the best book ever written.

'That brief experience of peace and fulfillment that came, she thought, now and then unexpectedly and unaccountably. Why should one, at a certain moment, be held in the stress and ceaseless striving and wanting? And the next be almost swooning in desireless bliss - open, drinking, basking -'

Farewell my friends.
